Pay for entering Lagoi


Starting to pay a tariff to go into Lagoi area raised objections from people who mainly live in the District Sebong Bay. For many residents in the area who worked in international tourism in the region.
The objections was expressed by Ramla, as Camat of the Bay Sebong to the media. Ramla said that many residents have come to the district office to complain and object strongly to the implementation of the tariff to go into the region."Lagoi authority said that the cost is for the road maintenance in the tourist area. But if the community feels disadvantaged party should not impose Lagoi to stop such pplicy "said Ramla.

Ramla also said that the company had received a letter about it from the manager directly Lagoi forwarded to Bintan Regent Ansar Ahmad. In the letter tariff application will be made on this in January 2010.

"If that many people who do not agree, it must be re-examined, because many people who work in the area, such as rubber plantations, workers take the garbage in the area, and other workers, should be re-examined," said Ramla.

According to Ramla if it will be applied tariff would be in order to distinguish whether local residents or the guests. Ramla give an example if there is one vehicle from the outside or even visitors who are not local residents will then pay the tariff.

"Because people can get about five times into the region in a day you can imagine how much money they have to spend," said Ramla.

To ask the parties Ramla Lagoi to reconsider the implementation of these tariffs. Responding to this, the Regent Bintan, Ansar Ahmad said there is need for further discussions between the parties with the authority of the region Bintan Resort Horizon (BRC).
